The Chickens are Coming!

My sweet wife Sharron has long wanted chickens. For Christmas 2008 I gave her a gift certificate for 3 chickens and a coop. She found MyPetChicken.com on the internet and ordered her chicks. Since our city laws allow residents to keep up to 3 chickens, she ordered 6 - what a rebel!

She ordered a Buff Orpington

We held each one in our laps this evening. They are amazing in that they are so small and fragile. Imagine being able to hold a baby bird in your hands. They don't seem to weigh anything. It was quite a treat. Each one fell asleep in our hands, feeling protected and warm.
